It was announced today that Disney’s Hollywood Studio in Walt Disney World (Florida) is adding a brand new holiday nighttime display this year. Starting November 14th “Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!” will come to love above and around the Chinese Theatre with music, special effects, and even fireworks.
The show will apparently feature a story where Santa Claus has gone missing and the elves from Prep & Landing are on a mission to bring him back. It will also include memorable moments from popular holiday themed films/specials including Mickey’s Christmas Carol, Beauty and the Beast, Pluto’s Christmas Tree, Bambi, Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, and more. It’s also noted that the finale will feature snow.
To get a better view of the show you can take part in the special Dessert Party which boasts a special viewing area, desserts, drinks, and more. You also get a pair of “3D HoloSpex® glasses” which apparently turn points of light into gingerbread men, candycanes, snowflakes, and ornaments.
You can see an example of similar glasses in the picture: yes they’re made of cardboard. (I found them here.)
It’s unclear at this point what days or times this holiday spectacular will be running or when/how to register for the Dessert Party. Currently Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular is running as the nighttime entertainment at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and it’s fair to assume this holiday show will replace it. Keep that in mind if you’re hoping for Star Wars activities.
In case you didn’t already know, the famous Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights that used to take place in Disney’s Hollywood Studio enjoyed their final season at the end of 2015. The pictures below are from our own Disney World trip in 2014.
